Drawing management and takeoff
Every revision logged, quantities measured off the drawing, changes compared side by side.
Nobody builds from an old drawing.
Drawings
Every drawing and revision, with the current one always on top.
The drawing register lists every sheet with its revision and status. When a new revision arrives the old one is marked superseded, so nobody builds from an out-of-date drawing.
Transmittals
Which drawings went to whom, which revision, and when they opened them.
A transmittal is the record that a set of drawings or documents was issued to someone, at a stated revision, for a stated purpose. If there is ever a dispute about who had which drawing, this is the proof.
Specifications
Specification clauses linked to BoQ items.
A specification says what quality of material and workmanship is required, for example concrete grade C25 with a 75 mm slump. Each clause links to the BoQ lines it governs.
Value engineering
Cheaper ways to build the same thing, with the saving shown.
Value engineering looks for alternative materials or methods that cost less without losing function, for example IBR roof sheeting instead of concrete tiles. Accepted options update the BoQ as a new version.
Permits and approvals
Council submissions, approvals and their conditions.
Track each approval the authority must give: plan approval, building permit, stage inspections and the occupation certificate. Conditions of approval become tasks so none are forgotten.
Compliance checks
Issues found against the building regulations, with the clause.
Each issue records the regulation clause, where on the drawing it occurs and the suggested fix. These checks are advisory; the registered professional still signs off.
