Material quantities · 2026
How many bricks, bags and cubic metres does a house need?
Material quantities for a house, computed from the way houses are actually built in each country — wall thickness, block format, mortar and concrete mixes, foundation depth and roof pitch. Quantities only: prices move too fast to hard-code, so pricing happens against your own drawings.

Material quantities — frequently asked
Why do material quantities differ between countries?
+
Because the buildings do. Wall thickness, block size and format, mortar and concrete mix ratios, foundation depth and roof pitch are all national conventions. A 150 m² house built with 225 mm double-brick walls in 1:5 mortar needs a very different material list from the same house in 200 mm hollow blocks — so these pages compute each country separately rather than applying a global average.
Do these calculators include wastage?
+
Yes. A country-specific wastage allowance is applied to the perishable materials — bricks and blocks, tiles and paint — because ordering the theoretical quantity guarantees a shortfall.
Are material prices included?
+
No, deliberately. Cement and steel prices move week to week and vary by region within a country, so a hard-coded price on a static page would be wrong within a month. These pages give quantities; pricing happens against your own drawings at current rates.
Can I get quantities for my actual plan rather than a generic one?
+
Yes — that is the product. Upload dimensioned floor plans and the quantities are measured from your real geometry rather than from a representative rectangle, then priced in your own currency.
